The open source giant Mozilla corporation has officially announced the release of its beta version of the new browser, Mozilla FireFox 3.6. The browser is now available for a test drive which can be installed in windows, MAC and Linux operating systems and supports almost 60 languages. Developers and technology aspirants who wish to test their skills are welcome to report for any issues and bugs which can help optimize the browser before the launch of the complete product.
The release plan of the browser dates back to December 2008. The organisation also proposed plan for version 3.7, and 4.0 which is expected to be released shortly. The beta version supports web technologies like HTML 5 featuring asynchronous script execution, CSS and DOM which will load the web pages faster. It also supports device orientation, accelerometer for MAC Books and Personas which allows users to change the browser’s appearance. It has fixed almost 80 bugs in the previous version (Mozilla FireFox 3.5) which improves performance, stability and security. The browser will alert users about the out dated plug-ins, play native videos in full screen mode and supports WOFF font format.
The 7.7 Mb executable file is built on Mozilla’s Gecko 1.9.2 web rendering platform. The browser is expected to be more responsive and has been designed to run even on small operating systems like windows CE and Maemo. The developers of the beta version have released few know issues in its official web site and has promised to fix it soon. Lets get started and feel some faster browsing.

The giant of mobile technology “Nokia”, plans to step into a new segment of online banking services. Its waiting to clear out the regulatory norms of the mobile banking of India and is expected to provide a more secured and faster financial service in the name of ‘Nokia Money.’ This platform will allow users to use their mobile phones for banking, payment of bills, online shopping and buying tickets.

China and India will top the list of broadband users and online shopping by 2010, a survey reported last year. Nokia also figured out India to be the top 20 countries to establish Nokia money. It has chosen six banks in India to handle cash management and other regulatory issues. It aims to use the network of 1.9 lakh retailers and dealers as the first point of customer contact to know about the service.
At present the service will be offered to single bank and one mobile operator. After the full fledged release, it aims to support all banks, operators and even other model mobile phones. Teppo Paavola, the global head of Nokia Money service said that, its key is to convert Nokia retailers into service agents for Nokia money. Also they are concentrating more on the service platform along with Obopay (leader in creating mobile payment platform) to make sure that it supports all the handsets, with simple method of transaction at a nominal fee. The service will be launched in the beginning of next year.
Analyst say that mobile financial services by 2014, will reach Euro 18 billion out of which three fourth will be contributed by the emerging markets like India. This service also indirectly boosts the growth of mobile broadband and other technologies to provide more security for the users in India.
